St. Marys Field Trips
St. Marys is bursting with Native American, Early American, and Gilded Age history and is an incredibly rewarding visit for students. We can cater tour itineraries to whichever subjects your class is studying!
St. Marys Walking Tour: A Tale of Prosperity and Turmoil
On this walking tour, students divide into teams to solve riddles concerning landmarks and buildings in downtown St. Marys, a historic town with 250 years of history. After solving each riddle, we discuss the history of each landmark, such as the Archibald Clark House, the oldest home in St. Marys from 1801, and Greek Revival-styled Orange Hall, where students love learning about its underground tunnels. We also gain exclusive access to buildings such as the Goodbread House, a nineteenth-century bed and breakfast, and the Riverview Hotel, where such names as Carnegie and Rockefeller stayed. Afterwards, the team that solves the most riddles gets a prize!
